Backwater Tournaments was started in September 2008. When we set out on this mission, we had a goal to bring Southwest Florida a professional tournament series. We want to provide a tournament that offers a professional atmosphere for the anglers and the community. Fishing for money and fishing for a cause is what brings tournament anglers to fish tournaments. We offer the best payouts while giving back to our local kids. 15% of our proceeds go to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of SWFL. You can be guaranteed that your entry fees our going to a great cause.
With Southwest Florida being the fishing capital of the world we could not find a better place to host an inshore tournament series. In 2009 we decided to expand our tournament series into a North and South division. Three tournaments will be hosted out of Ft, Myers and four tournaments will be hosted out of Goodland. From the grass flats of Pine Island to the rivers of Chokoloskee you can catch a number of tournament winning fish. Fishing in Southwest Florida is unlike fishing anywhere else in the world. So bring your boat and your fishing team and come fish in Southwest Florida’s Finest Inshore Tournament Series.
